Durango attorney Doug Sitter is scheduled to announce Monday that he will seek the Republican nomination for the 3rd Congressional District seat being vacated by Rep. Scott McInnis, R-Colo. Sitter wasn’t available Thursday to discuss his platform. But in a story that appeared in The Durango Herald on Nov. 5, Sitter cited as important issues: • An environmentally sound use of the district’s natural resources. • Affordable health care, especially for individuals and people working for small businesses. • Simplifying the tax code.
